Our Story
The Retail Girl, Market is a vision turned reality — a woman-owned, minority-owned neighborhood market proudly rooted in the West Uptown Charlotte community. What started online grew into a real, brick-and-mortar space designed to be a cool, welcoming spot for the people who live and work right here.
My name is Melissa Bradley. Born and raised in the Bay Area, CA, I spent 18 years in Atlanta before relocating to Charlotte in late 2021 — and landed right in this neighborhood. As someone who actually lives in the community, I felt the gap firsthand — there was no real neighborhood gathering spot close to home. So I decided to create one myself.
At TRG Market, you'll find a carefully curated mix of beer, wine, seltzers, IPAs, grab-and-go food, fresh desserts, unique snacks, and thoughtfully chosen retail items. We're the kind of place you can stop into on a whim and always find something you're glad you picked up.
This isn't just a store. It's a community space — and you're always welcome here.

How to Find Us

We're located below Gateway West Uptown Flats on the Johnson & Wales side of the property — even though our address shows W. 4th Street, the easiest way to find us is from the Johnson & Wales side. Look for us on the lower level, and park free in the garage!
